How relocations use the record
Made at origin. Checked at destination.
At origin
The record is made and locked.
The employee or the crew photographs items as they are packed, room by room. Each line carries a description, a fair market value with its basis visible, and a dated photograph. Once captured, the record is locked.

The delivery is checked against it.
At the new home, the family confirms each item present against the record and its photographs. Anything broken or missing is noted against the line at delivery, not weeks later when a box is finally opened.

Scope
A family's kitchen, on the same standard as issued equipment.
The same capture works for household goods and for equipment an employee carries between posts. Whoever owns the record decides what goes on it. The record stays useful long after the move, as a complete, valued inventory of a household's contents.

What it is not.
Not an insurance or claims workflow.AIMIS produces the record a claim needs. It does not file or decide one.
Not an appraisal or a replacement cost quote. It is a fair market value with its basis shown, drawn from what similar items actually sold for.
Not a tracking system. It records what was sent and what it was. It does not track where it is in between.
